DAY 1
This morning I was forcibly awoken by my caretaker, I was informed that I would FINALLY be allowed to explore the town more, but, unfortunately I have to be accompanied by a guard the entire time.
His name being Garrett.
As I dragged myself out of bed, seeing the town for the first time since probably I was a child, I was shocked when Garrett told me that he's gonna try to be as hands-off as possible. Even letting me choose where I wanted to go, I'm, I'm actually very shocked.
Regardless...
We first went to an armory, one that apparently Garrett is already known as a regular, I guess that makes sense, I assume he's part of our military.
He gave me a nudge, saying I can pick out anything I want and he'll pay for it, I was estatic.
I quickly began browsing the daggers, I have a hand-made one but it's flimsy.
What caught my eye was a radiant dagger, radiant is definitely, far from my specialty, so it'd be nice to have.
Garrett nodded and payed for the dagger for me.
As we exit Garett leads me to a training dummy with intention to train me to strike, I felt smug as I switched my blade into a reverse grip and strike the dummy with ease. Though I've never striked at any actual object or person, I've practiced a lot in secret in my room and watching the soldiers training from my window.
Garett smiles with pride, saying "Good, how about I take you out to the field?"
I couldn't help but smile, this is great! I never thought that the church would have the balls to put me under someone so freeing.
The two of us found a group of wild boar, I ready my blade but I can't help but feel uneasy. Sure, this Garett guy has been easy on me so far, but I don't know if he knows what I am.
But, I take one too many hits from the boar, and out of frustration I find myself casting Hellish Rebuke upon one of them, downing it instantly, and Garett didn't bat an eye.
After the last boar was slain, I couldn't help but question why he didn't seem to care when I made demonic casts, he yet again smiled and reassuured me he knew that what happened to me wasn't my fault and thus there wasn't any reason for him to punish me.
I felt... warmth, warmth and dread. He must've lied a large amount to be able to look after someone like me this loosely.
I found myself being led to a small village by Garett, somewhere I do not recognize.
But
before I could even process where I was..
Garett was shot dead by hundreds of arrows.
Before I could even think I raise my hand waiting for whatever greets me the moment these gates open, but as they do and as their eyes meet Garett's body, they look horrified.
My mind was a complete blur, just pure rage, but what I could remember, they immediately began to deeply apologize, I- I don't know, I think they may had been with Garett... I just remember screaming at them for answers.
They.. They spoke of an Eldlon I never have known, one of peace and solidarity. Not what it is now.
As they spoke of this history to me, I lowered my arm and begged them to let me stay there with them, but they told me I can't, that I had to return to Eldlon, but they did ask me, plead with me, to make things right, that they knew I had something in me to correct this corruption...
As I was about to respond I could hear yelling in the distance and the sound of a horn, it was Eldlon's military, they casted a spell that forcibly pushed me away as their gates shut.
I look back up and see the village being violently attacked, and feel an aggresive latching of my arm.
"I'VE GOT THE BOY!" he yelled, as I went unconcious.
I slowly awoke in a chair...
(perception check failed)
...In a room I did not recognize, facing a man I did not recognize.
The man proceeded to strike a deal with me, I join the fight FOR Eldlon and they could look into a way of potentially freeing myself from my pact.
His face was smug, it angered me violently, I knew, HE knew, I didn't have a choice in the matter, there were two guards standing at both of my sides, he knew damn well that this was not a fucking deal, I'm in this against my will.
I agree with myself to keep my head down, for now, that man at that village struck a nerve with me, Garett struck a nerve with me.
I'll find a way.
DAY 2
Getting out of bed, today I have to choose a neighboring tribe and attempt to 'integrate' them into Eldlon. Given the freedom to choose whoever I'd like, I end up going with Hearthboon, admittedly without knowing much about it.
As I made my way to the tribe I cross paths with a githyanki rogue who appears to have been following me.
I entered into combat with him and won pretty easily, as he topples over I notice a note fall out of his pocket.
The note explains how the githyanki clan Hearthboon had been invading the neighboring tribes for resources, now having to resort to targetting Eldlon.
I think this is it, this is my in to forming an alliance with this tribe as apposed to taking them over.
I made my way to Hearthboon and, as I honestly should've expected, I immediately had a sword to my throat.
He demanded to know my business, I try to explain as calmly as possible that I am simply here to discuss a possible peace deal.
As I thought I had pushed too far his commander tells him off and directs me to their elder.
I keep my back straight as I come face-to-face with the Githyanki elder, he looks irritated.
I attempt to explain to him that I am here to propose an allyship, to maybe give them weaponry and armory in exchange to not attack neighboring tribes and Eldlon.
I attempted to claim that I found the note on the ground so I could use it as to explain why I knew they were planning on targetting Eldlon...
(Deception check failed)
But he saw through my lie immediately.
The Elder very back-handedly waved it off though, saying "well if he could have been defeated by someone like you he wasn't worth the life anyways."
I clenched my jaw holding back some very strong words and continued with my pitch.
(Persuasion check success)
Bracing myself for rejection, I was pleasently surprised by The Elder writing down and handing me a letter for proposed requests in order for this allyship to go through.
I thank him graciously and make my way back to Eldlon.
As I enter I make eye-contact with a shield bearer guard.
